HARRIS, Weldon Harold “Wally” - of Lapeer, MI, age 69, passed away at home Friday, March 20, 2020. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness, in Weldon’s memory.
Weldon was born in Flint, MI on June 13, 1950, son of the late Ralph Ernest Harris, Sr and Lily Mary (Gibbs) Harris. He married Charlene Martin on September 20, 1986. Weldon retired from GM Truck & Bus Pontiac, MI in 1999 after 30 years of service specialized in air conditioning. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sharing Coronas with friends on the beach in Cancun. He loved his classic movies, and making people laugh, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Weldon is survived by his wife Charlene Harris, the love of his life; 3 children, son Joshua H. Harris (Tiffany), Dale Laten (Amanda) and Tammy Laten; 12 grandchildren, Benjamin, Avery, Logan, Lilly, Kalena, Taygen, Ethan, Shaye, Baileigh, Jennifer, Alex and Brendan; 5 great-grandchildren, Faith, Aaron, Bryce, Olivia and Sophia; 5 siblings, Ralph Harris, twin brother Aldon Harris, Betsy Paine, Cathy Harmon and John (Rhonda) Harris; also loved by his in-laws, Skip and Donna Martin, Pammy Hubbard, Barb and Henry Lawson and James Martin; many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Harris, Sr. and Lily Harris; siblings/in-laws, Charlotte (Sam) McDonald, Susan (James) Summers, Linda Harris, Beverly (Lynn) Wooster, Mary Harris, Beth Harris and Rick Martin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Lena Martin; his best buddy and brother-in-law, Bill Hubbard.
