Lloyd Robert “Bob” Havrilla was born in Flint, Michigan on December 21, 1928, the son of Andrew and Lena Havrilla.
Lloyd “Bob” worked at several local businesses in the Flint area, but his favorite job was at AC Spark Plug where he met and married the love of his life, Norma Sylvia Fults. They were married on August 26, 1971, at the First Presbyterian Church in Flint where they were lifelong members.
Bob and Norma enjoyed traveling, visiting Europe, Canada and Mexico, and spending their winters camping in St. Petersburg, Florida. Bob was always making movies of his trips and family get- togethers and was very good at giving a narrative on where and when his movie was made. The family is especially appreciative of his talent, as we are able to relive so many of these precious memories.
He was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving in Europe at the end of World War II as a tank mechanic.
Bob retired from General Motors after thirty years and continued to manage his and Norma’s rental housing business until his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; sister, Betty Craig; stepson, Curtis Fults; stepdaughter, Vicky Thorpe; and his favorite little Maltese dog “Maxie”.
Lloyd “Bob” is survived by his son, Robert Havrilla; sister, Dolores Poindexter; stepdaughters, Carole Fults and Lynn Boult; grandsons, Andrew and Joseph Havrilla; and three great-grandchildren. Everyone will always remember his warm smile and friendly personality. He both enjoyed life and the many people in his life.
