BIRCHMEIER, Joy Corrine - Of Flint, age 80, died Friday, September 21, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,
Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation.
Visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass at the church at 11am.
Joy was born in Flint on February 24, 1938, the daughter of the late Floyd and Erva Burt. Joy graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1956. On January 11, 1958, she married Marvin Birchmeier. She was a member of the CCW at Holy Redeemer and volunteered at St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center.
Surviving are husband, Marvin L. Birchmeier;
children, Pamela (Michael) Newton, Jean (Kenneth) Johnson, Lawrence (Karen) Birchmeier, Linda (Daniel) Henry, Kathy (Louis) McChristion, Cindy (Michael) Kauth and Christy (Laquan) Bradford;
grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca, Penelope, Cierra, Emma, Jacob, Alexandra, Jennifer, Henry and Mia;
great-grandchildren, Andrew, Ella, Colin, Faith and Ayranna;
siblings, Virginia Corwin, Judy (Ernie) Thompson, Janice (Dave) Florida;
brother-in-law, Charles Sisler;
Thomas Birchmeier (Caretaker of Marvin);
and special friend, Barb Gould.
She was preceded in death by siblings, June Davis, Della Sisler, Bernard Burt and Stanley Burt.
