Joyce E. Hudson of Flushing, age 94, died Monday, August 22, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5105 N. McKinley Road, Flushing. Rev. Teresa Peterson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and from Noon until time of the service Wednesday at the church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hudson was born in Flint, MI on January 9, 1917, the daughter of Orrin and Cecile (Henderson) Plew. She married Harold Hudson on July 3, 1937 at the Community Presbyterian Church, Flint. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1996.
Joyce had worked for the Fairwinds Girl Scout Council for 40 years. She was a past member of Community Presbyterian Church and a member of Flushing Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by: her children, Jerry and wife Loretta Hudson, Joyce M. Hudson; daughter-in-law, Nanette Hudson, special friends, Patricia Odgers, Paul Ivester; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; sister, Jean and husband Paul Darnton. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Hudson. |
