CHOWNING, Connie Frances – Of Linden, age 57, died Monday, September 28, 2020.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide Street, Fenton, Father Ryan Ryley officiating.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Mrs. Chowning will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Connie was born in Flint, Michigan on August 30, 1963, the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Janos) Burch; her sister was Deniese Carpenter.
Connie grew up in Grand Blanc and graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1981.
She graduated from Mott College and received her Dental Hygienist License. She practiced as a Dental Hygienist for over 20 years.
Connie married John Chowning in 1992 and they lived in Linden for over 27 years.
She was passionate about hockey, and was a season ticket holder for the Flint Generals and the Red Wings for many years.
She was a member of the “Section 7 Rowdies” at the Flint General games.
Connie loved to cheer on her son, Kyle, who played for Linden Varsity Hockey.
She was very proud of her daughter, Amanda, who has graduated with a Degree from U of M in Flint in Biology, and her son, Kyle, who attends Oakland University, and who is working toward a Physical Therapist Degree.
She was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton.
Surviving are husband, John Chowning;
daughter, Amanda Chowning and
son, Kyle Chowning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pauline and her sister, Deniese, who died this year.
