THURSTON, Charles “Bud” – Age 83, of Grand Blanc, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Vicinia Gardens Memory Care.
A Celebration of his life service will held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in Grand Blanc.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Bud was born in Los Angeles, California on November 23, 1932 to Roy and Ethel Thurston. Bud and his parents moved to Flint shortly after his birth.
He graduated from Flint Central, then attended Michigan State University on a Golf scholarship. He was a MSU fan. On October 10, 1954 he married the love of his life, Dorrien (Gerdes).
Bud enjoyed his work as a salesman for Office Products Center for over 40 years.
He spent most weekends with his family at the cottage in Barton City, Michigan.
During the week he found time to play a few rounds of golf with Dorrien at Spring Meadows Country Club.
Bud has five children, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Scott Thurston, grandchild Devynn.
