DEAN, Carol June (Rozell) – of Flint, MI, age 79, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Ron Scott officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, May 2, 2024 and 10-11 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home.
Carol was born in Flint, MI on November 24, 1944, daughter of the late James and Inez (Balcom) Rozell. On February 14, 1961, Carol married Ernest “Ernie” Dean, Jr. and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2011. Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent with her crochet hook in hand, weaving intricate patterns and creating beautiful treasures. Her generosity knew no bounds as she dedicated herself to serving her community, providing food and clothing to those in need and offering warmth and comfort to the homeless. Her love for her church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, was unwavering, finding solace and strength in her faith. Carol's heart overflowed with love for others, reflected in her dedication to spreading kindness and compassion wherever she went. In her leisure time, Carol delighted in the company of friends and family, engaging in friendly games of horseshoes, the thrill of throwing darts, and the camaraderie of bowling. Her love for nature was evident in her appreciation for flowers, finding beauty in every petal and bloom.
Carol is survived by her 4 loving children, Ernest (Leslie) Dean III, Pamela (John) Lumm, Barbara (Patrick) Gorman and Rebekah Hayes; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, James (Jan) Rozell, Ray Rozell and Judy (Bill) Withrow; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Inez Rozell; husband, Ernest “Ernie” Dean, Jr.; grandson, Benjamin Larkin; brother, Frank Rozell and sister-in-law, Ella Frances Griffin.
