Alecia Emelda (Thomas) Turner-Bey, was committed to the Islamic faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; loving daughter, caring sister, aunt, cousin, and loving friend. She ended life’s journey on Sunday, November 27, 2011 surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Alecia was born October 31, 1943 in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, she was the daughter of Randolph and Emarita Thomas. She always spoke of her special childhood memories of attending public school, playing sports and daily family life in St. Croix at a time when the community raised the children. She was an advocate for Sickle Cell Disease and was the past president of the Sickle Cell Support Group of Genesee County. Allah (God) blessed Alecia with the knowledge of Herbs and Essential Oils, and the art of making Natural Body Products (Island Lady Crafts & More).
