EMERY, David John – age 71 of Grand Blanc, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at his home after a brief illness. Visitation will be held from 4PM-8PM on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 28 2016 at 10:30AM at Holy Family Catholic Church – 11824 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI. Father Gary Koenigsknecht celebrant. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. David was born on July 24, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John Donald and Thelma (Kroha) Emery. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Army from 1963-1966. He married Diane Sekula in Cleveland, Ohio on August 23, 1969. His career spanned over 45 years in the tire industry. David was a long-time member and usher at Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of Council 6742 Knights of Columbus - Grand Blanc. He was also a member of Assembly 0510 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus - Grand Blanc. David enjoyed fishing, reading, and golfing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him. David is survived by his wife, the love of his life of 47 years, Diane; children, Jennifer (Mark) Caldwell, John Emery and fiancée, Amanda Wood; grandchildren, Madeline and Andrew Caldwell; brothers; Gerald Emery and Mark (Dinah) Emery; special brother-in-law, Brian Sekula, and many other family members.
