WALTERS, Ruthann J. – of Montrose, age 80, died Thursday, February 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Montrose United Methodist Church. Rev. Susan Bennett Stiles officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home in Montrose on Monday from 4-8PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until time of service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Montrose United Methodist Church.
Ruthann was born on March 18, 1933 in Bay County, Michigan to the late Alexander and Leona (Stegmane) Hartley. She married Amos E. Walters on August 16, 1966. He preceded her in death February 26, 2008. Ruthann was a member of Montrose United Methodist Church and was very active with the Methodist Women’s Club. She was also a charter member of the Clio VFW Post 1452 Ladies Auxiliary. Ruthann worked at Diane’s Pastry in Montrose for 16 years. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and reading. Ruthann was also a good cook.
Surviving are: Sons: Fred (Sherri) Gage of Kensington, Maryland and Norm (Carol) Gage of Harrison; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; Brother, James (Barbara) Hartley; Sister, Dolores (Dwayne) Smith; Many nieces and nephews.
