Carl J. Swedine
Age 91 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw.
A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Grace Bible Church with Rev. Bob Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm. He lie in state at church on Saturday from 12 noon to time of service.
Carl was the son of Carl W. and Pearl (Plass) Swedine born in Hart, Michigan on September 1, 1927 He married Shirley E. Humphrey in South Branch, Michigan on June 19, 1948; she preceded him in death on September 29, 2006.
Carl honorably served his country in World War II and the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy.
He retired from Fisher Body in Grand Blanc as a tool & die foreman in 1987.
Carl was a member of Grace Bible Church. He loved playing golf and being outdoors - hunting and fishing. He also loved watching all sports.
Carl is survived by children, Tim (Susan) Swedine, Kevin (Marion) Swedine, Melody Livingston, Neil Eric Swedine and Nancy (Jeff) Bateman; grandchildren, Quincy, Erica, Ryan, Nicole and Nathan; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; grandson, T.J.; brother, Ralph; sisters, Betty, Emma and Edith.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Bible Church.
