FITCH, Barbara Thedaberl- Age 87, of Flint Twp., died Saturday December 28, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday January 3, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt.Morris. Visitation will be held 12 PM until time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Caring from the Heart. Barbara was born October 24, 1932 in Missouri, the daughter of Berl and Mabel (McGee) Abernathy. She married Leon D. Fitch on August 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2019. Barbara enjoyed square dancing, gardening, raising cockatiel birds and many varied interests over her lifetime. Surviving are: children, Steven (Sheryl) Fitch, Cathryn Walden; grandchildren, Greg Bevil, Barbara (Jason) Bevil-Gould, Jennifer Blackledge, Jeremy (Christine) Fitch, Christopher (Amy) Fitch, Andrew Fitch and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Iris Marshall and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was also preceded in death by her son. Michael D. Fitch; parents, Berl and Mabel Abernathy; step-father, Toivo Makela, brothers, Jerry Wayne Abernathy, Thomas D. Makela; son-in-law, Duane Walden and brother-in-law, William Marshall.
