O’SULLIVAN, Joan (Zammit)– Of Grand Blanc, age 81, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at The Oaks at Woodfield.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439, Monsignor Jerry Vincke and Father Gary Koenigsknecht co-officiating.
Private burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Catholic Charities of Genesee and Shiawassee Counties.
Joan was born in Corktown in Detroit, Michigan on June 22, 1935, the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Yandric) Zammit.
She married John O’Sullivan on May 9, 1964 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Detroit, he preceded her in death on May 7, 2016. She attended school at St. Vincent DePaul in Detroit. Joan was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Joan worked at Chrysler Corporation for 23 years. Following Chrysler she worked for John P. O’Sullivan Distributing Inc. in Flint, Michigan, where she was an active member of the Board of Directors.
Surviving are daughter, Joanie O'Sullivan-Butler and husband Sean of Grand Blanc;
three grandchildren, Ava Siobhan, John Patrick and Alexandra Grace Anne;
sisters and brother, Gloria Zammit(George) Erhardt,
David Zammit,
Beverly Zammit (James) McElmeel and
Mary Ann Zammit (Peter) Murphy;
many nieces and nephews.
