LOOMIS, Edward C. “Edd” – of Gladwin, MI, formerly of Davison, MI, age 83, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, April 6, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. James Offrink officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-8 PM Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 11 AM-8 PM Thursday, April 5, 2018 and 10-11 AM Friday, April 6, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage United Church of Christ, 7074 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 or the Big Boys Club of Gladwin County, 702 Rivers Terrace, Gladwin, MI 48624, in Edd’s memory.
Edd was born in Flint, MI on September 23, 1934, son of the late Arthur and Bertha (Rollf) Loomis. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Edd married Barbara Nagy on June 3, 1961. He retired from Buick in 1986 after 33 years of service. Edd was a member of the American Legion Oakley Traynor Post #64 and Big Boys Club of Gladwin County. He enjoyed a good game of Euchre and he loved to play pool.
Edd is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Fredric Loomis; daughter, Phyllis McCombs of Birmingham, AL; 2 grandchildren, Alexandria Loomis and Paige Shumaker; 2 sisters, Beverly (Everett) Dees and Barbara Lancaster; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 9 siblings, Hazel Farley, Dorothy Faye Cronkright, Marlin Loomis, Nellfern Balcom, Joyce Schilling, Robert Loomis, Lavina Nast, Gerald Loomis and Emma Jean Armstrong; 3 infant brothers.
