WEIGANDT, Virginia Mae “MeMe”- of Otisville, age 89, passed away peacefully Friday, October 25, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, October 28, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Saturday; Sunday 10 AM- 8 PM and one hour prior to service on Monday. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Virginia was born in Flint Michigan on July 2, 1924 daughter of the late Orville and Adeline Cargill. She married John Weigandt on October 18, 1957. Virginia was employed by General Motors, Ternstedt Plant for 16 years. Many of her nieces and nephews considered her their “second Mom” and she was very proud of that.
Surviving Virginia are her two daughters, Carolyn (Glenn) Edwards of Columbiaville, Darlene (Terry Owen) Mathews of Otisville; step-daughters, Nora (Larry) Adkins of Davison, and Janet McDaniels of Central Point, Oregon; grandchildren; Sherry Holloway, Jeff (Teri) Steward, Terry (Mercia) Palmer, Rick (Cristina) Palmer, Tracy (Kim) Mathews, Amy (Joe) Cwynar and Julie (Kevin) Smith; 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews that were very dear to her heart. She also leaves a large extended family and several very special close friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wayne and Dennis; baby daughter, Virginia Mae; husband, John; daughter, Sandra; two sons-in-law, Edwin Steward and Tom Mathews.
