Stone, Marjorie Jean of Flushing, age 93, died peacefully Friday, December 6, 2019, at McLaren-Flint after a short illness. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6012 River Road, Flushing. Rev. Bart Muller will officiate. There will be light desserts and appetizers to follow. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. A private burial at Flushing Cemetery will take place. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to King of Glory Lutheran Church.
Marjorie was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Frederick and Mabel (Anderson) Dawe. She married Horace Stone, Jr. on September 22, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2005. Marjorie worked as Assistant Vice President at First National Bank for 23 years, retiring in 1989. She was a faithful member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her book club at the church and doing puzzles.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Don W. (Marlene) Stone of Flushing, Larry J. (Barbara) Stone of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Cathy (Charles) Weber of Flushing; three grandchildren, Julie (John) McCullough, Lindsey (Joseph) Boden, Chris (Amber) Weber; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their thanks to all her dedicated team of caregivers at McLaren Hospital; the nurses, aids, social workers, hospice workers, and all who helped make her stay comfortable.
