CONVERSO, Susan - Age 89, of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, August 18, 2016. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Susan was born in Plymouth, MA on December 18, 1926 the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Carter) Mills. She married William Paul " W. Paul" Converso in Duxbury, MA on July 10, 1949. Susan met her husband while performing as a soprano at an opera camp in Duxbury, MA where he was an instructor/performer and they began their life-long duet sharing their love of music, faith in God and an insatiable zest for life (she always said they lived a fairy-tale). Susan was passionate about every endeavor from teaching dance at Arthur Murray, performing in operas and ultimately singing religious music which touched her deeply and offered her comfort in her later years. She retired from Flint Community Schools where she was a very popular and well-loved teacher; completely devoted to her students and the pursuit of providing quality education. Susan's enthusiasm for any of her varied interests was contagious. Nothing could rival her compassion and love for animals. She was an amazing seamstress, knitter, artist and was generous to a fault. Susan often said how happy she was and what a wonderful life she's had. Surviving are: son, Brian (Tammy) Converso of Burton; daughter, Kimber (Yvonne) Converso - Baran of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Katie (Ely) Phillips, Kristi, Jamie.
