SERGES, Steve - age 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Funeral services will take place at 11 AM Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 12-4 PM & 6-8 PM Friday, September 15, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Home.
Steve was born December 28, 1928 in Flushing, MI. He graduated from Flushing High School in 1948. Steve married the love of his life, Donna Lee Gullifor August 17, 1953 in Angola, IN. She preceded him in death on July 1, 1989. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Steve's daughters were his world. He was a man full of wisdom and always giving advice to whomever needed it. Steve enjoyed horse racing and spending time at the casino where he made many friends and enjoyed his social time with everyone. He was a very successful businessman who passed on all of his wisdom to his daughters, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He devoted his life to the happiness of his family.
He is survived by: his daughters, Toni (Steve) Sleva, Kellie Brindley, Dana (Matthew) Ferris, and Brenda (Wade) McDermaid. Papa had 9 grandchildren, Ashlee, Stevie, Brandi, Brittney, Brett, Chase, Devin, Austin, and Wade Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaden, Brindley, Brooklyn, Gianni, Giselle, Gia, and Bo; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was also preceded in death by: his parents, Samuel and Tillie Serges; sisters, Fannie, Jeanie, and Anna; brothers, George, Julius, and Henry. Special thanks to dear friends Harvey Eisman and Nick Sasseen for their endearing friendship. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make contributions may donate to the American Heart Association.
