Jane Marie Wnuk, known for her loving kindness, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at her home in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on August 7, 1952, in Sault St. Marie, Michigan, Jane's life was a testament to the power of love and the joy of family.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (McKerchie) Downs. Jane's life was further enriched when she met and married her soulmate, Hugh Wnuk, who preceded her in death. Together, they shared countless mornings on their porch, a time of day that held a special place in Jane's heart.
Jane's legacy is carried on through her children: Shauna Wright Thomas, James (Maryellen) Wright, Jason Wright, and Rebecca Dalton. Her grandchildren: Joshua, Megan, Jordan, Nicholas, Katlyn, Destiny, James Thomas, Dalton, Jacob, Ellie, Nathan, Autumn, and Emma. Her great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy, will also cherish her memory. Jane's sister, Nancy (Phil) Wheeler, and her niece, Ellie, and the Wnuk family will hold dear the memories of her steadfast love and support.
Jane's zest for life was evident in her many years of participation in her bowling league, where she formed lasting friendships and shared countless laughs. A voracious reader, Jane's passion for books was a window to her curious and imaginative mind. Her love for the outdoors was reflected in her beautifully tended flowerbeds. Jane's presence was a comfort to her family and friends, and her home was a hub of warmth and hospitality.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville, where friends may visit noon till time of service. A luncheon will follow.
