BORDEN, William - Of Burton, age 73, died Friday, December 23, 2011 at his residence.
Per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Food Bank Of Eastern Michigan or the Genesee County Humane Society.
William was born in Flint on May 5, 1938, the son of the late Vernon and Nettie Borden. He married Diane Tosto on August 20, 1966 at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Flint. Bill graduated from Bendle High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business and his Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan-Flint. He was a member of the Flint Elks Club B.P.O.E. Lodge #222, Michigan Council of Teachers in Mathematics and MARSP (retired teachers organization). Bill was a season ticket holder for University of Michigan Football for over 45 years. He enjoyed attending home games with his family and away games with his son, Brian. He played the trombone, enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida. Bill retired from Dryden Schools in 2001.
Surviving are wife, Diane;
Son Brian and wife Courtney Borden of Rochester Hills, MI;
Grandson, Charlie;
and many special friends.
He adored his cat, Sweetie-Pie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Nile and Maxine Tosto.
