Judy L. Dimond, age 93 of Flint, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019. She was born on July 8, 1925 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to parents Gordon T. and Clara B. (Spence) Findley. Graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1942. Judy moved to Flint with her mother in 1943 and they both began working at Buick building airplane parts. Later on, after meeting and marrying Ralph Dimond in 1945, they opened the West Side Coney Island which was mutually enjoyed by countless friends and neighbors for 41 years until they retired in 1988. After retirement, Judy volunteered for 20 years at the Carman Ainsworth Senior Center. She enjoyed receiving cards and letters from her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Judy is survived by her and Ralph’s children: Sally Edwards and Gloria Jean (Jerry) Tufford; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dimond; grandchildren: Jasmin (Tim) Hoffman and her mother Martha Dimond, Mickie and Jill Dimond and their mother, Cindy Dimond, Rob Edwards, Penny (Jeff) Blackburn, Jeanie (Rick) Dodge, Rusty Edwards, Kim (Randall) Taylor; nine great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; niece: Helen (Don) Westphal; nephew, Sam (Darylee) Coplin. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Ralph M. Dimond in 2016; son, Michael Dimond who died of cancer in 2015; sister, Thelma Coplin. The family gives special thanks to the Medical Team Hospice staff for the continuous care and compassion, caregiver Candice Town, and to granddaughter Jeanie for being such an amazing caregiver and companion. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. |
