Elizabeth “Bettie” Hacker of Davison, age 92, died Sunday May 5, 2024 at Hurley Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday May 11, 2024 at the Davison Free Methodist Church 502 Church St. Davison. Rev. John Vannest officiating: with private burial in Crestwood Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 3-7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Bettie will lie in state at the church from 11:00 am Saturday until time of services. Those desiring may make contribution in her memory to the church memory fund.
Bettie was born in Flint Michigan on September 14, 1931 the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred (Barnes) Swain, and has resided in Davison most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Hacker on April 23, 1949 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2000. Bettie attended Davison Schools and proudly retuned to graduate in 1974, she also attended Baker College for interior design.
Bettie was a Christian lady who grew up in the Bentley Wesleyan Church in her youth and was now attending the Free Methodist Church, Davison. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed sewing. Her love of family kept her busy but was time that she truly cherished. She leaves to cherish her memory: Gerald and Christie Hacker, Timothy and Diana Hacker, Neil and Debbie Hacker, Todd Hacker and Michelle, and Sally Hacker-Webb and Buddy. She also leaves her loving fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Her special nieces and nephews: Jeffrey and Robyn Provost, Cynthia and Chuck Wright, Dennis and Lorraine Provost, Steve and Katrina Provost, Lori Provost-Wright, Jody Provost and Cheryl, and a host of extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law Brian and Dala Hacker, grandson Alan Hacker, granddaughter Tricia Hacker Tickle, two sisters and six brothers.
