PLOURDE, Elizabeth Eleanor (Betty) -- Age 83, of Swartz Creek, left this earth to live in her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, March 5, 2015 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel. 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday. Visitation will be 10 AM until time of service at the church on Thursday.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Betty was born September 27, 1931 in Flint the daughter of Hubert C. and Eleanor M. (Zedo) Neumann. She married Howard J. Plourde on December 9, 1961. Betty retired from Genesee County Sheriff's Department and assisted her husband, Howard, in owning and operating Mobile Gas Station, in Flint, Michigan. Betty was also a bus driver for Beaverton Schools. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and contributed hundreds of scarves, hats and mittens to the homeless shelters in Flint, Michigan, and made contributions of blankets to the Veteran's Nursing homes in Michigan.
Betty is survived by her husband, Howard J. Plourde; brother, Herb ( Madolyn) Neumann; daughters, Carol (David) Peterie, Judy (Ronald) Root, Deborah Moomey; son, Howard (Lorijo) Plourde Jr; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
