WARREN, Erie L. – Of Grand Blanc, age 96, died Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Paul Ytterock officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Erie was born in Columbiaville, Michigan on December 4, 1922, the son of the late Erie L. and Hazel A. (Witt) Warren.
He served in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps during World War II and Korean War as a combat vet and pilot.
On June 18, 1944 he married Holly “Judy” Woods in California and had been married for 63 years, until her passing in 2007.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Flint, lifetime member of the Grand Blanc VFW and Toastmasters. Erie was the Top Salesman for Michigan Mutual in the state and was the only agent to visit every one of his clients.
He loved to travel, especially to visit friends and family, liked cars, planes and the outdoors.
Surviving are children, Holly (Stephen) Turner and Douglas (Kim) Warren;
grandchildren, Kevin (Stacey) Warren, Kurt (Riva) Warren and Emma Turner;
great-grandchildren, Kyler, Keely and Kaden Warren, Tristan, Gavin, Rylan, Jaxson and Mason Warren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his brother and three sisters.
