COX, Howard Leslie – Of Clio, age 89, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Maple Woods Manor.
Visitation 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Howard was born in Bono, Arkansas on December 26, 1930, the son of the late Bertis and Myrtle Cox.
On December 10, 1951 he married Shirley Baugh and she preceded him in death.
He had a passion for playing softball; enjoyed listening to country music, particularly classic country and loved playing guitar and playing in local bands in years prior.
He especially enjoyed and loved being with his family and his dog, Wendy.
Surviving are son, Mike (Sue) Cox;
daughter, Kim (Bob) Heyworth;
sister, Pauline Tidwell;
daughter-in-law, Cindy Cox;
7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and beloved dog, Wendy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son, Richard Matthew; brothers, Charles, Robert, Eugene and Virgil; sisters, Versa, Marie and Louise.
