THOMPSON, Rosemary Jean, of Flushing, MI, age 85, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 peacefully at her home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Rossell Funeral Home. Deacon Dennis Pennell will officiate. Entombment to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Rossell Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Rosemary was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1934 to Steve and Mary (Vincurek) Fogas. She graduated from Flushing High School, Class of 1952. Rosemary attended Michigan State University and in 1954 earned an associate degree in Business. She married her high school sweetheart, James, on August 27, 1955. She was employed by McLaren Hospital, Personnel Department. In the late 1950’s and 60’s Rosemary and her husband were active members of the Sports Car Club of America. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker who loved to vacation with her family at the cabin in northern Michigan. For the past 30 years, she and James would “snowbird” to Florida. Together they enjoyed observing nature, watching the dolphins and graceful evenings out.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Gilbert Thompson; children, Lisa (Randy Smith) King of Flushing, Dr. Frederick (Kathryn) Thompson of South Lyon, and Stephen Thompson of Flint; grandchildren, Nicholas King of Las Vegas NV, Nathan King of Flushing, Maxwell (Sarah Kopko) Thompson of Flushing, Frances Thompson of Plymouth, and Harrison Thompson of Flushing; step-grandson, David (Sarah) King; step-great-grandsons, Braden and Casey of Swartz Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Mary Fogas; daughter-in-law, Sharyn M. Thompson; and son-in-law, Ronald C. King. |
