HARRIS, Dean Leonard - Of Linden, age 94, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Linden United Methodist Church, 201 S. Bridge Street, Linden, MI 48451,
Reverend Michelle Forsyth officiating.
Private burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to Linden United Methodist Church.
Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Dean was born in Frazee, Minnesota on October 7, 1924, the son of the late Charles F. and Agnes J. (Kirch) Harris. On December 22, 1950, he married Ruth M. Dreuth in Seattle, Washington. He served in the United States Army as a Combat Vet during the Korean War. Dean was employed with General Motors for over 40 years.
Surviving are wife, Ruth;
daughters, Diane (Bruce) Basom, Cheryl Harris-Dowling, and Lynda (Mark) Ritchie;
grandchildren, Daniel (Jane) Basom, Christopher Basom, Ben (Susie) Arthur, Sam (Beth) Arthur, Thomas Arthur, Michael (Ryan) Stuart, Leah (Andy) Vernacchia, Katelynn Ritchie and Maggie Ritchie;
great-grandchildren, Hunter, Drake, Kyle, Megan, Phoebe, Jed, Alex, Josie, Niles, Roger, Zack and Autumn;
sister, Susan Hummel;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Charles Harris and sisters, Irene and Donna.
