WEST, Donald J. – of Burton, age 76, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will be held 5:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon officiating. The family will receive visitors from 3-5 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Donald was born in Flint, MI on April 30, 1935, son of the late, Lawrence and Delva (Welsh) West. He married Julie Ann Heavner on June 30, 1956. Donald retired from Consumers Energy in 1990.
Donald is survived by his wife, Julie Ann; son, Kevin (Connie), their children, Casey and Korey; son, Scott, his children, Jason and Eric; son Todd (Sandy), their children, Ryan, Sara, Erin and Dana; daughter, RaShelle (Kevin); their children, Kami, Kyle, Heather and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Evan, Caleb and Averi; brothers, John ‘Jack’ (Sammy , deceased) West, Gerald ‘Jerry’ (Helen) West. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darwin ‘Dar’ West.
