FENNER, Wanda Jean – Of Flint, age 82, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to Muscular Dystrophy Association or First Presbyterian Church.
Visitation 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the funeral home.
Wanda was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1934, the daughter of Charles and Beatrice Johnson, and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life.
She was a 1952 graduate of Flint Technical High School.
She married Charles Fenner on April 11, 1959 at First Presbyterian Church.
Wanda was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Celestial Choir, and was a former member of South Baptist Church.
She was a past member of American Business Women's Association and a past member of Pierce Park Senior Center Senior Adventures.
Mrs. Fenner was an executive secretary at Genesee County Medical Society for 25 years, retiring in 1996. She was a substitute secretary for the Flint Community Schools following her retirement.
Surviving are son, Charles, Jr. of Flint;
three special nieces, Linda and husband Earl Weiler and son Joseph Gerwens III, Pamela Dwyer and daughter Ashley, Terry and husband Bruce Kozlin and son Mark, all of Florida;
several cousins, special friend, Emily Kreger and other dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son on the same day, Charles, on December 7, 2004; son, Daniel "Danny", December 7, 1984; her parents, in 1972 and 1975; and sister, Gloria (Johnson) Cochran, in 1968.
