BOJANOWSKI, Carol J. – of Birch Run, age 79, died Monday, April 29, 2019 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Saginaw. Funeral services will take place 6PM, Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 12PM until the time of service at 6PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Ss. Francis and Clare Catholic Parish.
Carol was born April 3, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Donald and Anna (Scherer) Lajiness. She graduated from Cody High School in 1958. Carol attended Schoolcraft Community College. She married Jim Bojanowski twice. The first marriage was in Detroit in 1967 and the second was on April 24, 1982 in Houston, Texas. Carol retired in 2005 after 30 years of seniority from Beaumont Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She then worked for a few years at Medilodge in Montrose. Carol was a member of Ss. Francis and Clare Catholic Parish. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting blankets, doing crossword puzzles, and planting flowers. She loved the outdoors and liked to spend time up north at the family cabin. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Surviving are: Husband, Jim; Children: Tina (Russell) Bennett, Rebecca Katich, and John (Christine) Bojanowski; Grandchildren: Krissy (Trevor) Walz, A.J. Boike, Brittany Katich, Jordin Kaitch, Baily Kaitch, Ashley Bojanowski, and Alex Bojanowski; 5 great grandchildren; Brothers: Terry Lajiness and Donald Lajiness; Sister, Lynn Deladurantaye and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wellspring Memory Care for their compassionate care of Carol during her final days.
