EMOND, Mildred “Aunt Millie” – Of Flint, age 93, died Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Willowbrook Manor.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Nicole Christianson officiating.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Court Street Church of God for their children’s programs.
Mildred was born in Flint, Michigan on November 27, 1920, the daughter of Isadore and Mable Emond. She was a lifelong resident of the Flint area. She was a member of the West Court Street Church of God.
Miss Emond worked as a manager for Robinson's, Lerners and Vogue retail stores, before her retirement.
Surviving are nephew, Robert (Lori) Miller;
three nieces, Sherry (James) Anderson and Dorothy "Jo" (Carl) Petty, Kristen Anderson (Keith Smith);
great-niece, Autum Rose Smith; many other great-nieces and great-nephews and her good friend, Shirley Jagelski.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Beatrice Hayes, and Marjorie Miller; brother, Clarence Emond; nephews, Robert Hayes and Rolland Balcom.
The family would like to thank Willowbrook Manor and Heartland Hospice for all the special care they gave to Mildred.
