ROCKWELL, Ella Marie – of Clio, age 90, died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Maple Woods Manor of Clio. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 12PM Friday, November 8, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 10AM until time of service at 12PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Michigan.
Ella was born April 25, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late Howard and Viola (Holdorf) Thompson. She grew up in the Flint area and attended Hoover High School. Ella married Howard J. Rockwell on March 19, 1949. He preceded her in death February 8, 2009. She resided in Clio and Mt. Morris for the past 20 years. Ella worked at Koegel’s for 10 years. She and Howard also created and were active in two C.B. clubs. The Friendship C.B. Club and the Arrowhead C.B. Club. Ella enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Douglas (Kathleen) Rockwell of Lake, Gail (Ernest) Williamson of Zephyr Hills, FL, Debra Whitten (Ray Bradshaw) of Otisville, and Sandra (Mike) Mooney of Otisville; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her 5 brothers: Howard, Earnest, Kenneth, Lloyd, and Richard; Sisters: Caro, Norma, Frances.
