ZAPATA, Catalino “Chick” – of Davison, age 94, passed away April 12, 2016 at his residence. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 2 PM Friday, April 15, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM and on Thursday from 2-8 PM. There will be two hours of visitation prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
Chick was born in Veracruz, Mexico on November 25, 1921, son of the late Crescencio and Sidonia (Dominquez) Zapata. Chick married Sadie Steward in 1943. He worked at Chevrolet for 32 years. Chick was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, F.O.E. #3589 and Grand Blanc Moose Lodge #2344. He loved gardening but most of all, spending time with his family.
Chick is survived by his wife, Sadie; children, Gailene (John) Adams and Roxann Boisclair; grandchildren, Angela (Wade) Adams-Roller, Danielle Adams, Dawn Smith, J.C. (Margaret) Adams, Brieanna Boisclair (Chris) and Christian Boisclair (Cheyenne); three great-grandchildren, Kalsie (David) Mathews, Jackson and Aria; one great-great-grandson, Elijah; three step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Wilfred Zapata; son-in-law, Larry; granddaughter, Alicia. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at RRC Davison Dialysis Center and 6th floor staff at McLaren.
