GUERRIERI, Edward R. – Of Flint, age 87, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor R.B. Oulette and Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Entombment at Flint Memorial Park with a military graveside service at the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Bridgeport.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 12-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday by the Genesee Grand Lodge #174, F.&.A.M. at the funeral home.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Edward was born in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on March 15, 1927, the son of Armando and Pasqualina (Macciomei) Guerrieri and was a resident of Flint.
He married Sarah Wade on May 17, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan.
He was a Merchant Marine during World War II.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and First Baptist Church of Bridgeport.
Mr. Guerrieri was a life member of The Valley Bay City Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, life member of the Elf Khurafeh Shriners, Clio and Fenton and life member of the Genesee Grand Lodge #174, F.&.A.M.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #241, Flint, Polish Legion of American Pulaski Post #8 and member of Midwest Chapter of the American Merchant Marine Veterans.
He was a retiree chapter member of the Flint UAW Veteran Local #659 and member of the National Association for Uniformed Services.
Mr. Guerrieri retired from GM Truck & Bus.
Surviving are wife, Sarah E.;
sons, Terry Lloyd,
Douglas (Janice) Wade and
Gary Guerrieri;
daughter, Charmane (Eugene) Turnbull;
10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren;
also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Henry; four sisters, Pasqualina, Dorothy, Josephine and Erma.
