HOOKS, Jane Ann - Of Flint, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at McLaren-Flint.
Memorial visitation will be held 12-2pm and 4-8pm Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Memorial visitation 12pm Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2111 Flushing Road, Flint immediately followed by the Memorial Service at 1pm.

Jane was born in Flint, MI on March 5, 1947, the daughter of Frederick W. Secord and Carolyn (Smith) Secord. She graduated from Southwestern High School, Class of 1965. Jane was a Bartender for 30 years at the Crossbow Inn in Grand Blanc, MI where she made many lifelong friends, and was loved by so many. Jane was also a devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church in which she attended with her “Best Friend and Mother Carolyn”. Jane belonged to the Red Hat Society, and she was also a leader in the Girl Scouts.
Surviving Jane are her two cherished sons, Michael L. Hooks and wife Alissa of Grand Blanc and Bradley S. Hooks and wife Toni of Flint Twp.; mother, Carolyn (Smith) Secord of Flint; brother, Richard D. Secord and wife Judy of Flushing, MI; sister, Laurel L. Mitchell of Warrenton, VA; Jane’s grandchildren, Baylee, Antony, Aaliyah, Bryanna, Nicklas, Michael and Matthew; Jane’s longtime companion, Richard Bennett; as well as many cousins and longtime very dear friends and her “Dear Lilly”.
Jane was also preceded in death by her father, Frederick W. Secord, her grandmother, Carrie P. Smith, her brother-in-law, Richard F. Mitchell and several aunts and uncles.
Jane was a person of faith and lived serving others. Jane was loved and adored by all who knew her and will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
