PENA, Hector Contraras "Taco"-- Age 78, of Swartz Creek, died May 8, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday May 12, 2015 at St Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd. Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka Celebrant. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 12-3 PM and 5-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7PM. Visitation will also be from 10 AM until time of service at the church on Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association. Hector was born December 15, 1936 in Bertram, TX the son of Ynocensio and Delola (Contraras) Pena. He grew up working in the fields. He came to Michigan in 1956 and was married to Patricia Lee on August 5, 1963 in Greenville SC. Mr. Pena worked at Chevrolet Metal Fab retiring after 42 years of service. He enjoyed his family and grandkids, fishing, long car rides, listening to his Mexican music and watching Mexican dances on his tablet. Hector enjoyed talking to his special friend, Tiny Miller. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Joey (Mike) of Swartz Creek, Jim (Arlene) of Vernon, Paul (Michelle) of Jenison; grandchildren, Amanda Lien (Kris) of Longmont, CO, Brittany of New Lothrop, Brianna and Josh of Jenison; great-grandson, Liam Lien; sister, Evangelina (Jesus) Cantu; many, many, nieces and nephews.
