Baier, Allan R. of Flushing, age 86, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Paul Schwermer will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass Tuesday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Allan was born in Flint, Michigan on April 10, 1926, the son of Robert and Jenny (Grawey) Baier. He married Dorothy Bossle on May 14, 1949 in Flint, Michigan. Allan served in U.S. the Navy and after his service, began his career at Buick Motor Division as a Process Engineer. He was a member of the Flushing Lions Club. Allan enjoyed traveling to Florida, golfing and fishing, but most importantly, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Allan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; five children, Beverly and husband Karl Edgeworth of Flushing, Thomas and wife Marva Baier of Rochester Hills, Stephen and wife Diane Baier of Flushing, Nancy and husband David Kistler of Lowell, Patricia and husband Robert Hartwick of Harbor Springs; grandchildren, Jennifer Longardner, Kyle Edgeworth, Nicolette Gagne, Lisa Baier, William Hartwick, Morgan Kistler, Zachary Kistler and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Grant.
