NEWCOMB, Marlene Burns Barron – of Burton, age 73, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Pastor Curtis Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Kingston Cemetery, Koylton, MI. The family will welcome visitors from 2-8 PM on Sunday and from 10 AM – 8 PM on Monday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Ln., Suite 119, Minneapolis, MN 55447.
Marlene was born in Burton, MI on August 16, 1940, daughter of the late Lauren and Evelyn Mae (Roat) Burns. She married Veniceo Cimini in 1959 and James Barron in 1961. Marlene married the love of her life, Archie Newcomb in 1990. She was a custodian for Bentley Community Schools for 23 years, retiring in 1993. Some of her hobbies included gardening, canning and traveling. She especially loved spending time sitting on her front porch.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Archie; five children, Douglas (Denise) Barron, Kimberly (Tom) Wiles, Andrew (Sandy) Newcomb, Julie (Ralph) Davenport, Mary Lou (Rick) Galonska; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, brother, Charles (Barbara) Burns. She was preceded in death by sister, Marjorie Molloseau; twin sister, Charlene Brewer.
