MCFADDEN, Joyce - Of Grand Blanc, age 82, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Gary A. Cech officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Crohn’s Disease Foundation or the American Lung Association.
Visitation 5-8pm Tuesday and 11am-3pm and 5-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Flint on March 5, 1933, the daughter of the late Ralph and Onalle (Locke) Whipple. She married Jack McFadden on February 8, 1964 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1997. Joyce was employed at AC Spark Plug, retiring in 1981. She was very active in the UAW Local #651. Joyce was a member of the Elks Club, The Red Hat Society and Tops. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, wood crafts and spending time in Au Gres, Michigan and Florida.
Surviving are daughter, Michelle Gibbons (Brian Busch) of Grand Blanc;
sons, Chris and wife Deborah Harwell of Flint, William Harwell and fiance Jenn Tripp of Davison, and Clifford (Carla Burn) Harwell of Grand Blanc;
step-daughter, Pattie and husband Chet Olson of Davison;
grandchildren, Jason, Aubrey, Kelly and Alicia;
step-granddaughter, Stacy;
great-grandchildren, Jackson, Max, Dexter and Desmond
and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by son, Gary William Harwell and daughter Rhonda.
