CALUGARU, Nick Commici – of Burton, MI, age 78, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Dale Moore officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 12-8 PM Monday, May 1, 2017 and 11 AM-12 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS of Michigan, in Nick’s memory.
Nick was born in Flint, MI on December 12, 1938, son of the late Nichol and Victoria (Orza) Calugaru. He was employed with GM Metal Fab, retiring after 33 years of service. Nick married Bobbie Lou McNaughton on January 24, 1957. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2001. He then married Pamela Susan (Tahash) Stowe on December 6, 2003.
Nick is survived by his wife of 13 years, Pam Calugaru; son, Joseph Calugaru of Bakersfield, CA; 4 daughters, Darla (Mark) Massimino of Grand Blanc, MI, Lisa (Garry) Moore of Flint, MI, Nikki Calugaru (Mark Binder) of Flint, MI and Michelle Boychuk of Flint, MI; 7 grandchildren, Michael Ewing, Victoria Mosby, Nikki Mosby, Noah Calugaru, Emma, Caden and Grayson Boychuk; brother, George (Ann) Calugaru; 2 sisters, Dolly Eaker and Mary Calugaru; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by niece, Sandi Owens and his in-laws.
