DOTY, Carl Lee – of Davison, age 79, passed away May 15, 2018 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 2 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Glen Teal officiating. Visitation will be from 12 PM until time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Carl was born in Richfield Township, MI on April 18, 1939, son of the late Carl Lee and Evelyn (Martindale) Doty. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1959-1962 during the Berlin Crisis and was held over in Germany for 27 months. Carl married Lou Ellen Young in 1967. He loved yardwork, landscaping and spending time with his family. Carl was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved taking trips on his motorcycle. He retired from GM after 30 years and then worked at Suncrest Nursing Home for 10 years doing Lawn and Landscaping.
Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lou Ellen; children, Christel (Jack) Kohn, Amy Lynne Doty and Amanda (William) Tanner; grandchildren, Chelsea Gutierrez, Nicholas Carl Cheek and Alison Aleta Tanner; siblings, Otis “Randy” Doty, Linda (Herman “Leroy”) Meyer and David (Louise) Doty; many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Bleau.
