BARNES, Norma Ruth – of Birch Run (formerly SC) died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at her residence. She was 83 young.
Norma was born June 30, 1933 in Bellaire, MI to the late Verd J. and Eunice (Reiley) Lambert. She married Wallace Dale Barnes on August 24, 1949. They moved to the Flint area and then resided in Davison where she owned and operated "Norma's House of Beauty". In retirement they moved back to Torch Lake Village. They spent their summers in Canada and winters in Texas in their RV. Her husband preceded her in death on March 15, 2006. Norma then became companions living with their longtime friend Bob Millard of South Carolina until his passing on September 14, 2016. She enjoyed music, people, painting and being with all her family and friends. She showed her love through her cooking and you never left her home without being fed. No one met her that didn't love her.
Surviving are: Son, Kim D. (Shirley) Barnes of Port Charlotte, FL; Daughter, Jamie (Roger) White of Birch Run; Grandchildren: Andrea Jennings (Larry Kuebler) of Linden, Chad (Lauren) Barnes of Flushing, Ryan Riddle (fiancé Terra Spencer) of Birch Run, Dane (Kayla) Cobb of Clio , Ashley Barton of Port Charlotte FL , Stefanie (Greg) Hindmon of Swartz Creek, Jeff White and Rachel Folgelsonger of Flushing; 11great-grandchildren; Sister, Elsie (Don) Athearn of Bellaire, MI; Sister-in-law, Nancy Lambert of Leesburg, FL; nieces and nephews and so many loving friends. She was also preceded in death by: Daughter, Barbara Lou Barnes on October 29, 1952; Son, Tim Dale Barnes on October 3, 1978; and a Brother, Jim Lambert.
