Michael Andre Ruddy, died April 16, 2024 at Union Court surrounded by family. He was a humble man of great character, who lived a life full of love and joy.
He was born on June 8, 1941, in Mt Morris, Michigan, to Francis and Julia (Rousseau) Ruddy. His father passed away at a young age, leaving Michael to help work the family farm. Working the family farm taught him hard work and dedication something he carried throughout the rest of his life. He graduated from Mt. Morris Catholic High School, class of 1959. After graduating he served his country in the United States National Guard for several years. Michael met the love of his life Ruth Ann "Tootie" Wendling and the two got married on October 23, 1965 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, they celebrated 52 years together before she passed away in 2018.
Michael was a loving man who found joy in the simplest things in life. After retiring from working at AC Spark Plug for over 30 years, he spent his time tending to his garden, taking long walks down his road, and enjoying the beauty of nature. He was a busy body who hated to sit still, and his determination and hard-working spirit were evident in everything he did. But what mattered most to Michael were his beloved grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, always there to support them at their sports events and to share in their triumphs and joys. He also had a deep love for his Irish heritage, and he cherished the music and celebrations of St. Patrick's Day, which he always spent with his family.
Michael is survived by his children, Scott (Connie) Ruddy of Chesaning; Greg (Melanie) Ruddy of New Lothrop, Denise (Jim) Wenzlick of New Lothrop, and Gary Ruddy of Chesaning; his grandchildren, Quinton Ruddy, Tyler Ruddy, Gage Ruddy, Mason Ruddy, Noah Ruddy, Brooke Wenzlick, Alec Wenzlick, Treyton Wenzlick, and Landon Ruddy; siblings, Faith (Dave) Abbott, Mary Ellen Santocke, and Sister Rena Ruddy O.P.; siblings-in-laws, Margaret Ruddy, Sue Ruddy and Loraine Ruddy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Ruth Ann; his parents; his siblings, Francis Ruddy Jr, Ruth (Joe) Schroeder, Leo Ruddy, Lois (Barry) Burke, Dorothy (Fred) Schwartz, Jean (Leonard) Hemgesberg, and Bernie Ruddy; brothers-in-law Tom Santocke.
