Abdella, Dorothy of Flushing, age 79, died Friday, July 24, 2015, at Genesys Health Park. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing. The family will receive friends 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on February 29, 1936, the daughter of Wilson and Ruth (VanWagoner) Carb, and she was one of twelve children. She married Thomas Abdella on August 20, 1955, in Flint. Dorothy was a devoted wife and amazing mother and grandmother. She was known by everyone for her joyous, fun-loving spirit, her kind and generous heart, and her wonderful, truly inspiring cooking. Her family and loved ones will remember her forever for the abundance of joy she brought to all who knew her, and will be reminded of her love with every rainbow and every butterfly.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas; her adoring children, Thomas Jr. (Laurayne) Abdella, Mike (Lisa) Abdella, Tony (Jenny) Abdella, Daniel (Vladimir Jovasevic) Abdella, and Amy (Donald Miner) Abdella; her cherished grandchildren, Kristy (Brian), Corey (Erin), Sarah, Michael Jr., Lindsay (Jeff) Nick, and Brooklyn. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Reed, Kennedy, Cade, Camryn, Karis, and Kate.
She will be missed, treasured, and loved forever. |
