SHERWOOD, Robert W. “Friar Tuck”– of Clio, age 67, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Rev. Dr. John D. Bailey officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday from 1-8 PM, where a Masonic and Eastern Stars Memorial will begin at 6:30 PM. He will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Robert was born on July 13, 1947 in Muskegon to the late Walter and Shirley (Johnson) Sherwood. He resided in Clio most of his life. Robert married Suzanne Boulton on October 19, 1968. Mr. Sherwood retired from Buick and was a member of the UAW Local #599. He was a past master of the Vienna F.A.M 205 and was the Mason of the Year. Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are: wife, Suzanne; children, Melissa (Matthew) Snarey of Flint, Jennifer Stengel of Clio; 7 grandchildren, Monte and Robert McMillan, Ty, Kyle and Garrett Stengel, Parker Snarey and Gavin Bodnar; sisters, Pamela Still of Harrison, Karen (Joe) Duffield of Lansing; aunts, Jean Johnson, Rosie Broton, Kitty Jones; extended family, Gary Hiltz Sr., Tom Hendricks, Jack Rathka, Don Stengel; several nieces and nephews; Au Gres Fishing Community; many other family and friends.
