Passed away January 9, 2015, at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, MI, at the age of 94 years. Frank was born September 14, 1920, in Flint, MI, to the late Johan and Agnes (Hyusd) Piesko. He was baptized at All Saints Church in Flint, MI. On June 20, 1942, he married Wanda Bysko; she survives him. Frank was employed at General Motors for 34 years and received many awards for innovative ideas. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he received 5 Bronze Stars for heroism and a Purple Heart. Frank was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and the VFW.
Frank is survived by his wife, Wanda and their four sons: Frank (Sandra Waack) Piesko, Robert (Susan Finkbeiner) Piesko, Michael (Diane Worley) Piesko, and Gary (Cyndi Barger) Piesko; grandchildren: Frank (Tammy) Piesko, Ryan (Kelly) Piesko, Carolyn (Mark) Petzing, Jim (Bobbie) Piesko, Steve (Melissa) Piesko, Amber (Patrick) Stack, Adam Piesko, Lyndsey Piesko, Brandon (Tracy) Worley, and Chantel (Brian) Williams; many great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Hazel Piesko.
Frank was preceded in death by his siblings: John (Stella), Walter (Lottie), Edward (Helen), Anthony, Mary (Jake) Burkett, Rose (George) McRae, and Helen (Ralph) Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 E. Tuscola St., Frankenmuth, MI. Fr. Robert Byrne will officiate with burial in Blessed Trinity Cemetery. Frank’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a Prayer Service on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
