DUBY, Iverne H. – of Birch Run. Our Mother’s most favorite day came Monday, August 22, 2016. She shared with us her favorite day would be when she goes to heaven. She was 83 years of age. She passed away peacefully at her home with her family.
She was born June 23, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Lilly (O’Brien) Bronner. She married Gordon Duby of Birch Run on January 14, 1950. They raised their family of 8 children in Birch Run: Gordon Jr. (Teresa) Duby of Irons, MI, James (Cindy) Duby of Montrose, Cathy (Les) Davis of Birch Run, Richard (Julie) Duby of Birch Run, Diann Duby of Birch Run, Judy (Mike) McIntosh of Montrose, Brian (Terri) Duby of Boon, MI; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and to her they were all very special grandchildren. She is now joined together with her daughter, Debra A. Duby, who entered heaven at the age of one, and her husband, Gordon C. Duby, Sr. who died on April 1, 1991.
Iverne attended St. Martin Lutheran Church where she greeted her church family and those who came to visit with the biggest hug and smile every week. She loves her Lord and she let that light shine into the lives of so many. She started to work at the age of 14 and worked serving others her whole life, either at her job, home, or church. She took Jesus very seriously when he washed the disciples feet and said “I come to serve, not to be served. Go and do likewise.”
Mom’s presence in this world will be missed by many. Heaven is celebrating, and our Heavenly Father is saying “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 25, 2016 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, 10995 Canada Rd. corner of Gera Rd. Rev. Jim Chinery officiating. Burial to follow in Cook Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 1-8 PM and on Thursday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM.
