KNIGHT, Clarence J. – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Genesee Care Center under the care of Reverence Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, January 16, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423, Rev. Jeremy Peters officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday, January 15, 2017 and 10-11 AM Monday, January 16, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, in Clarence’s memory.
Clarence was born in Flint, MI on February 10, 1928, son of the late Stanley C. and Clara M. (Glasson) Knight. He graduated from Flint Central High School Class of 1946 and General Motors Institute in 1950. Clarence served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked 41 years at General Motors in Flint. Clarence was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church and served in several leadership roles. He was also active in many civic organizations throughout the Flint area, including The Retired Men’s Fellowship of Greater Flint.
Mr. Knight is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret A. (Bowden) Knight; son, John C. (Linda) Knight of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Patricia A. (Scott) Csirke of Mt. Morris, MI; grandson, Garrett (Jessica) Csirke of Grand Blanc, MI; 3 great-grandchildren, Gage, Kaylin and Hannah; nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Joan (Knight) Hem.
