POLZIN, Arthur L., Jr. “Larry” – Of Burton, age 67, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc, The Reverend George L. Cleaves, Jr. officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Polzin will be at the church from 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
Larry was born in Goodrich, Michigan on March 18, 1945.
On June 19, 1965 he married Katha Lipford.
He was President and long standing member of the Grand Blanc School Board, Old News Boys; involved with Make-A-Wish Foundation; very involved with the Buick Open for many years and very involved with many projects in the Grand Blanc Schools and the community.
Mr. Polzin retired from GM. He owned and operated Larry's Small Engine Repair for 37 years.
Surviving are wife, Katha;
children, Tiffany Polzin-Shemes of Burton,
Michael and wife Vanessa Ortiz-Polzin of Grand Blanc,
Matthew and wife Cheri Polzin of White Lake;
grandchildren, Nick, AJ, Josh, Garrett, Makayla, Christian, Bradyn, Kennedy, Kiara and Gabriella;
two brothers, Richard Polzin and Curtis Polzin, both of Grand Blanc;
many nieces, nephews and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Geraldine.
