BARKER, Diane Marie – of Clio, age 73, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 3:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Diane was born February 26, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to the late Ralph and Gladys (Warner) Cousineau. She grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Hurley Nursing School. On February 10, 1968 she married David Barker in Flint, Michigan. Prior to her retirement in 2000, Diane worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph Hospital and finished her 32 year career with Genesys Hospital. She was a member of Lamb of God Fellowship Church, Red Hats, and was very active in the Relay for Life. Diane and her husband were also a member of the Tin Can Tourists Vintage Trailer Club and the Airstream Club. She enjoyed sewing, playing saxophone, playing cards with friends, gardening, and fellowship with her small group at church. Diane also liked wintering in Florida with her husband. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Husband of 51 years David; Children, Sara (Ken) Cullen, Steve (Shann) Barker, Michael (Tracy) Barker; Grandchildren, Landon Barker, Mia Barker, Griffin Barker, Gabrielle Barker, Sophia Barker, RJ Cullen, Kazen Cullen; Siblings, Gloria Wood, Robert (Mary) Cousineau; Sister in laws, Nancy Cousineau, Sharon (Claude) Brannick, and Kathleen MyDock; several nieces and nephews.
